This was an article about a young Filipino boy in Montreal that was eating his lunch with a spoon and a fork. And for a couple of times he was punished by the lunch monitor for doing so. And now this boy does not want to eat at school with his spoon and fork. And when the mom found out she was shocked and went to the school principal. Who shared the lunch monitors stand that it was wrong in eating with the spoon and fork.
According to the article. The lunch principal said something like "Madame, you are in Canada. Here in Canada you should eat the way Canadians eat." He also said "I don&#8217;t necessarily want students to eat with one hand or with only one instrument, I want them to eat intelligently at the table," he said. "I want them to eat correctly with respect for others who are eating with them. That&#8217;s all I ask. Personally, I don&#8217;t have any problems with it, but it is not the way you see people eat every day. I have never seen somebody eat with a spoon and a fork at the same time."
So this is what i ask. Eating with a spoon and a fork is not intelligent? Are people really disrespected when others eat with a spoon and a fork?
I have eaten with a spoon and a fork during lunch. And my officemates have not said anything thatI have disrespected them or something. So I really do not know why the principal said such a thing.
I have asked some friends of mine to comment on this article as well. Here is one comment that i got from a friend of mine. Who studied in cultural anthropology in the University. And here is what she has to say about the artice.
And when I get more I will post them up. If you would like to be heard. pls feel free to send me an mp3 of your comment and i will post them up. And there has been a lot of comments on that web page. So i think there are a lot of interested parties.

Lighter News
I have 2 announcements this time. First, for those that were following my offline blog about the Times Colonist 10k. It happened last Sunday, I did it again. Last year I finished at 1:41:16 and this year i did it at 1:19:19. An improvement of about 21 minutes. Not bad. Thanks to my 3 days of training. It did help a lot. Thanks to my coach. Dave Kelsy who did it at 57:54. You can find the results at :http://pih.bc.ca/results/tc/tc.php
So the big question for me is this. Will I be doing it this next year? I don't know. My Back and feet are still aching to think about it.
Another news is that finally we will be taking our oath to be a Canadian Citizen. This will be happening on May 16.

Greetings:
First of all I want to say Hi and Happy Happy Birthday to Ate Ags! I hope you had a nice bday party last weekend and sorry i could not make it. Is expensive to go to the uk. Maybe next time.
To the other listeners that I know about: Soni_token. Jannette of digitalfilipino and Mr Manuel Villoria. One of the pinoy podcasters out there that I first listened to and got me interested in having my own podcast. Thanks for listening. Pls fell free to leave me your comments. <title>Life of a Flip Show #2 - A new life</title>
<description>I am recording this on April 15, 2006. I planned to record my show 2 last sunday but something happened that is really important that I would like to share with you in this show. Last sunday a new edition to my family was born. My 2nd son was born last sunday, april 9 at 1:20 pm. He wighed 4 kilos about 8.8 pounds.

I wanted to share some of the nice things here in canada that we encotered during this birth process. First I did not pay much for the hospital. The room and services where covered by MSP and the extended health coverage from my office. The only thing i payed for where the extra stuff like the phone and tv. If we were in the philippines this probably is not the case. We would have payed for top money. The hospital the we went to was sort of the public hospital for the City. even tough it was public i have to say that it was nice and clean. Not overcrowded. If we were in the philippines and go to a public hospital probably it would not be a nice experiance for us. To get a nice service you probably would go to the private hospitals such as St lukes at e. rodriguez.

Another thing that I like about canada is the support that they give to the family who has kids. The kids will be getting child tax benefits. You can compare it to an allowance that is given to the kids every 2 weeks depending on the income of the parents. So this helps us a lot. It will help in getting baby supplies such as diapers, milk and vitamins. In the Philippines they dont have this. I am not sure about the other coutries. But this is such a big help to starting families.

I guess to have these sorts of benefits the country has to have the resourecs. So I guess the first step is to solve poverety. If anyone has the answer to that then no one in the world will be poor.

Greetings to Soni_token. Takes for giving my show a listen. For the other listeners, I invite you to listen to his podcasts "Lifestype of a Flip in Texas"</description>
